Installation and Packing

At Wild Xplorer we want you to get the most enjoyment out of your roof top bag and its especially important that you fit it correctly. We have designed some very easy instructions for you to follow but its always preparing your vehicle first.

Firstly ensure that you wipe the top of your car to ensure that there is no debris or dirt before laying the mat down.
Unzip the Wild Xplorer bag and place it on top of the vehicle with the non-zipper end facing the front.
Now you can start loading the roof bag with your items. Ensure that you are sensible with your approach and place all sharp items in the middle and softer items around the edges. Its also wise to ensure that the heavier items are placed at the bottom and that you fill the bag from the front first. If there is any excess space ensure you pull the straps all the way down over any areas that are unfilled.
Once you have filled the bag, ensure you zip it from the front to rear, folding down the protective straps over the zip.
Make sure you tighten all straps ensuring that it is completely secure.

FAQ's

If I have side rails on my vehicle, so can I just attach the Wild Xplorer bag to this?

The roof bag can be attached either to a raised side rail, roof rack, top basket or to the doors by using the hooks supplied. In order to be extra secure you can attach the roof top bag by using both the side bars and through the doors as a solution.

Will this damage the weather seal on the door?

No. You need to pull the weather seal off the frame carefully and it fit back over the hooks after mounted. Be sure to replace the stripping over the hooks before shutting you door.

Will this work with sliding van doors?

Simply put, YES!

Can I use this bag if I have a sun roof?

Yes. Make sure you use the protective mat, and secure it as the instructions say. I would recommend to not over fill the bad in order to not put too much pressure on the sun roof itself.
